Children are affected by the environments they live in. I am passionate about improving their start in life to achieve the very best they can, growing up into happy, resilient, independent and successful adults. I've worked in schools, in employability and now with a charity that helps parents and adults to change their lives for the better, breaking the cycle of addiction, but most importantly giving children and young people better life chances.Helping others to develop to their potential is at the heart of my career choices and therefore being skilled in Coaching and Mentoring, Performance Management, Critical Friendship and Action Learning, provides the launchpad for many different environments.Providing a participative leadership style, I relish change, managing transformation by encouraging team creativity and personal development. Process driven, I create a safe, dynamic and person-focused work-place for people that use our services as well as for my teams. When asked to say a word people use when describing me, I say 'competent'. Thinking that was too boring, I didn't embrace that description, but now I know I've always admired people who are competent in their jobs, so I am owning it now.Being community-minded, I am involved in many charities as a CEO, a trustee, a trainer and as a volunteer. Getting involved and always learning.
