When I was in high school, my career aptitude test suggested I should be a fashion designer or graphic designer, mainly because of my unusual combination of artistic and mathematical skills. Over the years I have added to my unusual skillset, and it has allowed me to excel as an entrepreneur, and now as a marketing manager. As a lifelong learner who is quick to pick things up, most of my skills are self taught. Here are a few of the highlights:1. Artistry and Creativity - being creative is essential to my well being. In my younger years I spent time painting and drawing. In my years as a travel advisor, I loved to create the perfect itinerary. As an instructor, I created powerpoint presentations to highlight the beauty of many different geographical and tourist destinations. While running my sewing pattern business I have poured my creativity into sewing, content creation, photography, video, graphic design, and more. I took the content creation and graphic design into my current position as Marketing Manager.2. Attention to Detail - I have always been a very detail oriented person, which has served me well in all of my positions. I love to research (I chose the travel industry because I enjoyed researching for my trips just as much as taking them) and I am extremely thorough. 3. Marketing - in recent years I have developed a love for strategic marketing. My natural innovative thinking and relentless optimism have served me well, as I keep trying different mediums and approaches to find the most effective ones. My mathematical skills have helped as well, as I tabulate statistical data to figure out what is working and what is not. 4. Technology - as an entrepreneur, my ability to pick up new abilities quickly has allowed me to develop skills in a wide variety of software and other applications, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva, Web Development (Wordpress, Divi, and Oxygen), and Email Marketing (Mailchimp, Flodesk, Mad Mimi, and Klaviyo)My current position as Marketing Manager is a perfect blend for my Travel and Tourism background (and love of travel!), natural creativity and aptitudes, and developed skills from my time as an entrepreneur.
