Dec 2020 - Jun 2022

Security Operation Specialist

Bellevue, Washington

Hired in January, 2020 just before COVID, I worked in the Center for Protective Intelligence (CPI) as a Security Operation Specialist. Working in the greater Seattle area, I was the first in the company to report and write a memo notifying everyone COVID 19 had landed in Everett, WA just 30 miles north of our office in Bellevue. As a Security Operations Specialist, I was responsible for supporting special project managers, the recruiting team, clientele, and employed executive protection agents around the world. This role reports to the CPI Operations Director with a primary function of supporting all AS Solution operations worldwide. During COVID, we monitored riots, protests, death threats, emergency evacuations, and natural disasters. This required daily security briefings, tailor made regional updates, background checks, and evacuation orders for man-made and natural hazards.

Google - Visual Data Specialist Ii

Bothell, Washington

Moved to an essential project with high public visibility.

Oct 2019 - Jan 2020

Google - Visual Data Specialist I

Bothell, Washington

Contracted as a Visual Data Specialists for Google, I used internal Atlas GIS software for Project Ground Truth, which merged real-world information and imagery with data sets from cities, census operations, and postal address databases. The Atlas software used tools to update, correct, and validate geographic and relevant information on a global scale for everything from mapping roads in rural Africa to preparing for the Olympics. Requested changes were made per quality control policies for merging multiple visual sources into a cohesive vector-based drawing. These changes were published by Google daily, so accuracy was vital.

Emergency Operations Officer - Interim

Bellevue, Washington

As the Emergency Operations Officer (EOO) at Bellevue College, I reporting to the Director of Public Safety. The EOO serves as the campus liaison to internal and external constituents as it relates to emergency preparation, response, and intervention. I was responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of campus emergency planning, response and preparedness, training and exercises, program development, and outreach functions. My responsibilities also included safety equipment upgrades, grant applications, and presenting internal trainings to faculty and staff. In preparation for the newly planned 2020 Campus-Wide Active Shooter Full-scale Exercise I created a Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan. This preparation included Cabinet TableTops, as well as, FEMA trainings from Texas A&M and Louisiana State University, attended by over a dozen higher education facilities in the region. With great pride, the College President approved my Campus-Wide Active Shooter Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan.

Author - Disaster Debris Management Plan

Whatcom County Government

Whatcom County, Wa

As a student intern, I contributed to the preparation of Whatcom County Emergency Management's Full-Scale Earthquake and Tsunami Exercise and stepped into the role of a GIS Technician Lead during the event. After the Exercise debrief, I was approached by the Director of Emergency Management to write Whatcom County's first ever Disaster Debris Management Plan (DDMP) on their behalf. After working on the plan for over a year, it was submitted to FEMA Region X and the State of Washington for review. A few months later the 183-page DDMP was approved by both agencies on first review with no changes requested. The DDMP was created to be used by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in their Enhanced Resiliency Experiment Series 5 (CAUSE V) with British Columbia, Canada. The Emergency Management Director tasked me with creating the Debris Plan to include the CAUSE V scenario; a massive lahar from Mt. Baker flowing north across the border into Canada. The DDMP also includes landslides, flooding, wildfires, train derailments, earthquakes and tsunamis. The available resources and equipment was isolated to the local geographic boundaries with the assumption that a catastrophic West Coast Tsunami would result in the State of Washington and FEMA Region X prioritizing highly-populated cities and large-scale coordination efforts. Therefore, my 183-page document outlines the process for managing response and recovery following all debris-causing events within the boundaries of unincorporated Whatcom County, the seven incorporated areas, the Lummi Nation and the Nooksack Indian Tribe.
