I was involved in their pilot project with Lincolnshire County Council; the project involved ascertaining whether it was acceptable to use the DCM tool within a person's own home - we found we could and I spent many hours mapping and observing care workers with people with dementia in their own homes, this was a valuable experience in gaining further knowledge on dementia and the importance of communication, interaction and person centred care with people with dementiaI have also had experience in many settings, schools, nurseries, residential care, nursing care and leonard cheshire homes.
