Currently researching snail-plant-microbiome associations across the Hawaiian IsIands using field- and molecular-based techniques.Previously worked to control invasive coconut rhinoceros beetle populations to protect Hawai'i's palms. During my graduate studies I conducted a three year statewide pollinator survey across North Dakota grasslands, analyzed butterfly-flower interaction networks, and identified key floral resources for species of conservation concern.Before that I built a diverse background in ecology including behavioral research on prairie dogs in New Mexico, studying incidental bycatch of commercial fishing vessels on the Eastern Seaboard, and assessing vegetation community response to prescribed fire in semidesert grasslands of Southern Arizona.
