As a corporate counsel and business strategist, I love to pull apart a problem, strategize a solution, and build the architecture required to get there. I excel in high-growth start-up environments where my natural entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking can shine through across my work in product, corporate development, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional team leadership.My legal career includes in-house and Am Law 100/boutique law firm experience with broad exposure to counseling a variety of clients (start-ups, entrepreneurs, national/international clients) on business disputes spanning labor and employment, commercial contracts and negotiations, compliance, licensing, intellectual property, product development, privacy, and litigation.In my current role as Associate General Counsel at G-P, a unicorn start-up offering Employer of Record (EOR) services through its SaaS-based global employment platform, I manage a legal team focused on corporate development/partnership strategy and deals, product development and support, and government relations matters. I report directly to the General Counsel and thrive on being the go-to person for new projects, transforming existing infrastructures and processes into more robust ones, guiding on hiring/staffing decisions, and communicating to the executive leadership team and external stakeholders on ways to move the business forward. Additionally, I routinely speak at conferences and other events.I proudly joined G-P in 2017 as one of its first 30 employees and its third in-house attorney, which enabled me to play an instrumental role in scaling a worldwide legal team (~50 people in 9 time zones), closing multiple rounds of investment, expanding G-P’s global footprint to 100+ global entities, building a global privacy program and commercial function, advising on SaaS product creation, and launching new service lines in over a dozen countries. I also had the opportunity to live and work in Japan from 2019 to 2021 and manage G-P’s legal and business risk impacts across US, APAC, and LATAM, including entity setup, compliance, licensing, and employment law during the company’s exponential growth in those regions. In 2022, I co-formed the Global Employment Innovation Organization (GEIO), a non-profit trade association focused on maturing, expanding, and elevating the global employment industry through standards development, education, and advocacy.
