I am an experienced global education professional committed to ensuring quality education for the world’s most marginalized and disadvantaged children. Through collaborations with the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI), Save the Children, UNICEF, and BASE (a local Nepali NGO), I have improved the quality of education for children in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and around the world.My areas of expertise include global citizenship education (GCED), early childhood development and education, children's rights, child labor, education policy, and approaches to improving school quality such as child friendly schools and whole-school assessments. I have a Ph.D. in International Education Theory and Policy from Penn State University and an M.A. International Education and Development from New York University. Select accomplishments:-Led the development of ACEI's Global Schools First program from conceptualization to implementation in ten primary schools across five countries.-Interviewed over 100 education stakeholders—from Ministry of Education officials to school teachers—in South Asia. -Spoke to a global audience of about 75 people on local-contextualizing global citizenship education through knowledge creation, sharing, and dissemination, and network building (invited speaker, UNESCO APCEIU 3rd International Conference on Global Citizenship Education, Seoul, 2018).-Displayed adaptability, resourcefulness, and compassion while conducting research in low-resource contexts, including rural schools and villages in Nepal, India, and Bangladesh.
