At the time Contract Management was an emerging technology and as such the sales cycle includes providing education on the benefits of contract management, and the strategic advantage this type of solution would bring to anorganization. Target audience includes Sales, Procurement, Finance and the C-level executives for these groups. DHL was a key strategic win for the company. In order to close this deal I flew to Baan Germany to meet with key executive and do a custom demonstration.Accounts closed included: Duke University, Nextel Communication, DHL and the parent company DPWN. As the Manager of the Systems Engineer team I was responsible for pre-sales team in the southeast. I hired, trained and assigned system engineers to accounts and helped to guide them through the sales process. I also maintained a core of major accounts that I was personally responsible for. The team of systems engineers participated in the sales of enterprise solutions to Fortune 1000 companies. The team was responsible for campaign management, technical product presentations and demonstrations, custom demonstration development and product evaluations. The Business Intelligence Suite was a complex product that required interactions with all levels of an organization, from the CIO or CEO through the DBA and Unix administrator. I also participated in special projects for the company on a part time basis.Technical responsibilities included: Team development, mapping the prospect's business requirements to a technical solution, data warehouse design, design review and implementation, web site design, demo development and global SE support.
