Receiving Manager
Current-Oversee inventory receiving of all types within the store: frontlist releases, backlist, author event books, used books bought from customers, remainder sale books, sideline gift items, textbooks, and returns of unsold inventory to publishers-Lead training sessions and revise documentation for 6 other receiving staff members-Resolve delivery problems like damages and shortages, see patterns in publisher order issues-Schedule deliveries of used books from customers and remainders from our Pennington warehouse-Review invoices daily, check for data entry errors, track progress toward weekly & monthly goals -Communicate with other departments–ordering office and bookseller staff–to reach store goals-Process shipments from the store to customers and publishers via USPS, Fedex, & UPS daily-Order office supplies & shipping supplies for the store regularly-Coursebook rush twice a year for Princeton University: receive a large volume of textbooks before each semester and train temp staff to process online orders and help students in-store-Work as a bookseller with the sales floor staff on weekends, often in the children’s section-Improve our underground warehouse-like receiving environment to make for better communication among receivers and a more comfortable receiving experience, both physically and mentally
