About Adrienne Marshall

Hi! I'm Adrienne. I specialize in helping businesses make technology decisions that drive ROI and improve people’s lives.How did a political science student destined for work in the federal government get into tech?My journey began ten years ago at a civic technology hackathon aimed at improving biking accessibility in Toronto. A young outsider new to tech, I thought a lot about how technology could be used to actually help people – not the early adopters or most fortunate, but those for whom technology could make a disproportionately positive impact on their lives. Despite not being a developer or designer, my passion for equitable access to information led to the creation of Bike Finder, an SMS app for Bike Share Toronto. The project won the hackathon, went live in market, and we had thousands of users within our first year. This early success ignited my career in technology, where I've had the privilege of:• Launching a global automotive manufacturer’s inaugural e-commerce platform, driving a new revenue channel and providing new, accurate insights into demand for inventory forecasting.• Replatforming a leading D2C mattress retailer onto a new headless CMS that enabled them to set up their sales and promotions 9x faster than before.• Guiding an EdTech scaleup to sustainable product growth through a robust design system and team development.My experience with Bike Finder taught me the importance technology has in improving people’s day-to-day lives. When I think about the impact businesses can make with technology, it’s not only about the end-user experience, but also about our colleagues' experiences – the people who interact with technology platforms in their roles.
