Technology Programs Coordinator
CurrentI am currently the Technology Programs Coordinator at the City of Canada Bay Libraries, I oversee a broad range of technology-based programs aimed at engaging the community and promoting a culture of learning and innovation. I coordinate a team that delivers creative technology programs, typically held at The Learning Space in Rhodes. These programs cover topics like coding, robotics, digital arts, and 3D printing, providing educational and enjoyable experiences that encourage participants to explore technology and develop new skills.I work with other library staff to plan, organise, and execute these programs, handling everything from budget management to sourcing equipment and resources. A key part of my role is promoting the programs to attract participants, which often involves working with external technology experts and vendors to ensure high-quality learning experiences. I focus on creating programs that are inclusive and accessible to all, engaging participants of various ages and backgrounds. In addition to technology programs, I plan and execute large-scale events like the Robot Ball and the Science Fair. This requires comprehensive event management skills, from conceptualisation to execution. I manage the venue, logistics, budgets, and staffing to ensure a seamless experience for attendees. It inolves diverse marketing strategies, such as engaging with local communities, schools, and social media outlets to boost attendance. I then create detailed event plans and work closely with my team to oversee the setup, manage the flow of the event, and address any issues that arise. My strong communication and problem-solving skills enable me to effectively handle unexpected challenges and maintain a positive atmosphere throughout the event.
