TeachingVarious Institutions Mar 1995 - Jan 2007I’ve taught for two years at Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul’s Radio & TV undergrad program, where I also organized seminars, meetings and events. I’ve taught communications professionals for two years at courses jointly organized by UNICEF and Brazil’s Department of Justice, and given UNICEF-backed classes to teachers on the use of television in the classroom.For a year I’ve given formative courses on Conscious Consumerism for teachers through Akatu Institute. I’ve spent three years teaching audiovisual recording for schoolkids through University of Sao Paulo’s School of the Future, plus one year honing high school students’s technical skills at SENAC, with financial backing from Sao Paulo’s State Government.I’ve given lectures in Germany, Chile and Brasil on the subject of quality in television aimed at children and teens. I’ve talked about Conscious Consumerism throughout Brazil.

Through a team of 9 direct reports and 5 indirect reports, I was expected to: • Develop educational methodologies with the help of specialized consultants to ultimately spread concepts and best practices in conscious consumerism.• Create, negotiate and supervise various projects with Akatu Institute partners.• Rigorously manage projects’ budgeting and scheduling.• Develop presentations, talks and theoretical papers.• Supervise content production for the projects; prepare and issue regular reports and final assessments.• Write papers for methodology systematization.I have developed projects in the following areas: Conscious Consumerism, Money and Credit, and Reduction of Residues. I was responsible for budget, schedules, contracts and partnerships, both in Brazil and abroad. I wrote every project the NGO developed for UNICEF, AVINA Foundation, Prix Jeunesse Foundation and federal incentive laws. I’ve authored theoretical and practical teaching material for educators on the use of television in the classroom, talks scripts and promotional material for the institution, and was also responsible for relationship with the press. I coordinated projects in Brazil, Germany and Chile, of which I shall mention:• 4th World Summit on Media for Children. Organization of the international roundtable of TV producers, from 17 countries, during the Summit. Total audience: 2,800.• Developing and teaching a methodology for a project called Formation of Teachers for the Critical Use of Television in the Classroom. Target audience: 1,500 teachers. Financial backer: UNICEF.• Coordinated exhibitions and workshops and taught teachers on quality television, from 2003 to 2006. All these activities reached 900 professionals in SP, RJ and BH; 1,650 educators; 700 families; 17,000 students.• Coordinating an international seminar on Quality TV at SESC.• MidiaQ Prize: Quality and Responsibility in TV Programming. Production coordination of the qualitative and quantitative research, plus coordination of the award ceremony.
