Profile bio

About Adam Rolfe

I am a responsible sourcing and sustainability professional who combines technical and commercial acumen to generate and scale positive impact within the mining and minerals sector, with a particular focus on artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). I thrive at working with diverse and complex stakeholder groups to identify common drivers to generate consensus based solutions that build mutual value in a real-world setting. I have deep knowledge of the normative and legal framework associated with responsible sourcing as it pertains to both the upstream and downstream segments of the supply chain. I further have a strong understanding and firsthand experience of ASM policy, legal, regulatory and institutional frameworks, especially within an African context. For many years I worked in the leadership team of Levin Sources - a small, internationally renowned consultancy which consistently punched above its weight to catalyse social and environmental performance across the sector. Within that role I I provided technical leadership across the company's "Good Governance" services. I further spearheaded business and partnership development efforts, building and maintaining excellent relationships across the industry with government counterparts, clients, standard setters, industry associations, associates and supply chain actors. I presently lead business development at GemFair, a De Beers Group programme that aims to connect artisanal and small-scale miners to the global market through digital technology and assurance of ethical working standardsI hold a Masters in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelors in History and Politics from Queen Mary, University of London. I am a native English speaker and fluent in French.

Listed skills include Policy Analysis, Research, Human Rights, Ngos, and 13 others.
