I opened the Art & Heritage Center for its first full-year of exhibit operations, and raised annual museum attendance from 745 in 2014, to 4,222 in 2015. I also planned and operated the annual Windsor Summer Concert Series, which say record attendance at the 2015 4th of July concert, where nearly 8,000 attendants witnessed music and fireworks from the beach at Windsor Lake. As manager of museum operations I was awarded $35,000 in grant monies from the Poudre Heritage Alliance and History Colorado's State Historic Fund for renovation plans of the historic Eaton House in Boardwalk Park.

I wrote and directed all educational programming for the Fort Morgan Museum and served as the Project Manager for the remodeling of the Fort Morgan Museums permanent galleries.As Project Manager, I was responsible for all aspects of the redesign the permanent galleries of the Fort Morgan Museum. I worked in close conjunction with our exhibit design contractors to implement plans to revamp and remodel the museum gallery. Through this process I was closely involved with the layout, casework, lighting and graphic design elements, and managed exhibit construction, creation of new interpretive label, interactive elements, educational materials, tours, and exhibit narrative. As the Museum Educator I was responsible for all educational programming, outreach, interpretive elements, events, and promotions. I worked closely with teachers in the Fort Morgan School District to tie museum curriculum into their lesson plans. I conducted all tours of the Fort Morgan Museum. -More details below-

I directed the day-to-day operations of the Fort Morgan Museum and the Fort Morgan Public Library. My primary responsibilities included managing a staff of seven library professionals, and one museum professional, as well as a volunteer corps of over 40 community volunteers. I managed the annual municipal budget for the Public Library, as well as a supplemental budget raised in conjunction with The Fort Morgan Heritage Foundation, a 501c-3 incorporation responsible for funding museum operations. Through close work with the Heritage Foundation, The Friends of the Library Association, and the Library Advisory Board, I served as the city liaison to community organizations and ensured that the voice of our patrons, visitors, and contributors was heard and acted upon by our organization.

Museum Educator

As the Museum Educator I served as the sole employee of the Fort Morgan Museum dedicated to education, outreach, programming, community involvement, events, and promotions. I worked in close conjunction with the Fort Morgan School District to tie our museum curriculum into the lesson plans of our visiting teachers. I conducted all tours of the museum, and it's satellite historic sites in the Northeastern Colorado region. I was responsible for the creation, promotions, production, and evaluation of any new museum programming, including visits to area institutions, school outreach visits, traveling teaching materials, and in house tours and after school programs. I lead all efforts for advertising and promotions of traveling exhibitions, original presentations, monthly programming, and was the forefront voice of the museum's public relations. I was also responsible for the recruitment, management, and evaluation of a volunteer staff of over 20 volunteers. I my second year as the Educator I doubled the number of active volunteers who served the museum through new promotions and recruitment efforts.

Historical Interpreter

At the Johnson County Museum, I served as a Historical Interpreter. As a part time employee I conducted tours of the museums permanent galleries, as well as two offsite historic venues, which included a 1953 model home, and a one-room-school-house built in 1869. At the 1950's All Electric House I was responsible for school tours as well as public tours during regular business hours. I dressed in 1950's era clothing to present the museum the a historical context of the post World War Two suburban expansion. At the Lanesfield School Historic Site, I dressed in turn-of-the-20th-century style clothing and conducted full day historic lessons with 4th and 5th grade students from all across the Kansas City Kansas, and Kansas City Missouri metro area. By the end of my three and a half years with the Johnson County Museum I took on more responsibilities as the lead interpreter, and assisted with program development, exhibit construction and creation, and interpretive label development.I was also responsible for assisting the museum curatorial department with exhibit installation and promotions. During my Master's Degree program I assisted with the creation and installation many original exhibitions, including one on 'the weather of Johnson County Kansas,' in which I built a device which simulated a funnel cloud of cool mist that showed visitors how a tornadoes form.
