About Adv. Debbie Meyer Ca(Sa)

I have been extremely fortunate to have a celebrated career spanning over three decades in the world of business and finance. My journey began in 1993, as a Chartered Accountant at Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC), which set my foundations. In 1999, through dedication and hard work, I earned the position of Group Financial Director at Fedics, I later became one of the youngest female Chief Financial Officers of a Top 200 JSE-listed company. My aptitude in finance and business management was further validated in 2000, with a central role in a successful leveraged buyout of the Fedics Group (Tsebo Outsourcing Group). Throughout my fourteen-year tenure at Tsebo, I was fortunate to hold various roles, including Human Resources Director, Commercial Director, and IT Director. My expertise also led to a second successful leveraged buyout in 2007.In 2008, I embarked on a new experience as Group Chief Financial Officer of &Beyond (Pty) Limited (previously Conservation Corporation SA). Within a year was promoted to Chief Executive Officer. The visionary leadership and financial acumen of the management team of &Beyond were instrumental in achieving strategic objectives and sustainability during challenging economic times. An opportunity arrived to engage on a global level in consultancy assignments for Yellowwoods and Nando's International Holdings Limited. My involvement included reviewing and optimizing reporting processes and managing international tax projects. This experience provided me with the occasion to showcase versatility and adaptability in various business domains. In 2016, I engaged in yet another adventure, as the Managing Director of Varsity College. My passion for continuous learning drove me to pursue a full-time LLB degree, which I completed Cum Laude. I have always been passionate about the law, and I was honoured to be accepted as a pupil of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates (JSA) in 2022 and completed pupillage at The Maisels Group. In 2023, I was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court and become a member of the JSA. So far my journey has been incredible and rewarding. I ascribe this to my adaptability, resilience, and leadership abilities. I am proud of my combination of a wealth of experience, in business and law. I am well positioned to champion legal matters, drive strategic decisions, and assist organizations with challenges and successes in the ever evolving and exciting landscape of business and law.
