• Responsibilities include providing physical therapy services for 86-bed, skilled nursing facility. Evaluating and Treating geriatric population of numerous diagnoses, complex medical conditions and on poly pharmacy including patient’s with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders. • Patient population include, geriatric patients with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, post traumatic fractures, pulmonary disorders including pneumonia, COPD, general physical deconditioning, amputees, spinal cord injuries, vestibular disorders.• Treatment techniques include, PREs, therapeutic activities to improve function partial body weight support gait training device to improve motor function, symmetry, facilitate neuromuscular reeducation in patients with stroke, grade I Maitland mobilization for general arthritic pain. Encourage use of incentive spirometers, and controlled exhalation devices to improve pulmonary function, proprioceptive neuromuscular reeducation, balance training, fall prevention program vestibular training, coordination exercises, manual techniques likes stretching to obtain desirable lengthening of muscle for improving function.• Uses different modalities like electrical stimulation, used for strengthening, pain, and neuromuscular reeducation. Uses short wave diathermy, ultrasound, with other therapeutic activities and exercises to obtain maximum positive outcomes.• Apart from regular subjective and objective evaluation of strength (MMT), ROM, balance, tone, reflexes, coordination, performs standardized diagnostic tools which are Berg Balance Test, 6 minutes walk test, TUG, Barthel Index, Tinetti assessment scale, to document the base level and progress with treatment.• Mentoring and supervising and delegating duties to two PTAs in all physical-rehabilitation-therapy treatments.
