In 19 years as an educator, I have ten years of experience in senior leadership teams as a director of post-16 progression, director of learning and sixth form. I have led tutor teams and large cohorts of students through the UCAS process and successfully coached students into some of the world's prestigious universities; Oxbridge, MIT and Harvard. I have had 12 consistent years as the head of the religion, philosophy and ethics faculty at schools in the home counties and inner London - all inspected as outstanding by Ofsted with a special mention in a section 5 report. The SIAMS inspection section 28 report was particularly glowing. I've had the opportunity to contribute to public policy relating to the Prevent duty guidance for schools and featured in the WRAP training programme delivered to employees in the public sector throughout the UK. In line with this, I have held the post of Prevent liaison officer for eight years in London schools seeking to tackle radicalisation through counter-extremism with a successful track record. I have extensive experience with the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) as the taught programme coordinator that prepared sixth formers for university, achieving 100% A*-A consistently over five years. I enjoy being an annual visiting lecturer to the MA in Education Philosophy of Religion module at the Institute of Education, UCL, and the shared RE PGCE A Level Conference at Kings College London. Previous to this, I have also lectured at Oxford Brookes University and been a subject studies tutor and professional studies lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University for the TeachFirst summer institute. Other roles and responsibilities and interests have included advising the award-winning educational website TrueTube, mentoring PGCE students and achieving the SWELTEC qualification, academic writing for FORASE at Kings College London, director of sixth form progression, including careers, acting school chaplain for the Diocese of Kensington, advisor to the Tony Blair Faith Foundation on matters of the Middle East and motivational public speaking across the UK, USA, South East Asia and Africa.
