My thesis is on how constrained IoT devices located in a non-stationary environment can adapt to changes, combining techniques and concepts from digital twins, machine-learning and cognitive computing, on an architectural level. The goal is to identify the different mechanisms that devices can use to adjust their operations autonomously, for instance in order to achieve energy-neutral operation in a climate that experience large variations in seasonality and weather conditions.
