About Abby Edwards
I am a 2023 Presidential Management Fellow, based at USCIS/RAIO HQ (Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations) and currently on rotation at USAID in the Bureau for Asia.My professional experience has taken me from the former concentration camp Buchenwald in Weimar, Germany to the "killing fields" in Cambodia and the offices of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy of the United States. After moving back to the U.S. in 2019, I served as the co-Student Director of STAND: the student-led movement to end mass atrocities and worked with students across the country, NGO partners, peacebuilders on the ground, and policymakers to develop compelling and impactful change through advocacy. Most recently, I worked as a Research Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) studying issues of state fragility, technology and security, and human mobility within the International Security Program.I am always interested in learning about new opportunities within and outside of my field. If you have insights for my journey or an opportunity that you think I might be interested in, please reach out to me at abigail.edwards@columbia.edu
