The Washington Recovery Alliance is a statewide network of substance abuse recovery coalitions. For the month of January, I served as a short-term (3-week) Policy Intern tasked with organizing an inaugural Addiction Recovery Advocacy Day at the state capitol. Responsibilities included marking the event via phone and email; managing participant registration and coordinating more than 80 appointments with legislators; and providing logistical support and program execution.

Alternative Breaks mission is to foster a lifelong commitment to service through immersive service learning trips during five seasons each school year. Alternative Breaks annually partners with 50 non-profits nation-wide to serve 850 students. During my time at Alternative Breaks, the organization was awarded Student Organization of the Year for Academic Enrichment in 2013 and adopted into new University core curriculum.
