Led a team of 6 software engineers that developed various Java and JavaCard applications relating to SIM/smartcards. Smart is the Philippines’ largest mobile communications company.Key Accomplishments:- Awarded the “Leadership & Accountability Recognition” by the company in 2004.- Invented the technical implementation of “personalized SIM menu”, which was cited as a "most innovative idea", and has since been used for Smart’s various services such as Mobile Banking.- Formed a dedicated team, which was to become the SIM Applications Development team, to fast-track development of applications that were once outsourced from card suppliers.- Successfully delivered over 50 projects and various initiatives in a span of 2 years in the company, by effective team management and project planning.- Freed the company from costly license fees (millions of dollars per year) by developing a generic replacement for proprietary third-party solutions.- Developed the company’s pilot SIM card product for then-emerging 3G technologies, by working closely with card suppliers and leading the research on the latest standards.- Started team initiatives to develop various internal online systems, which were to become mainstay in other development teams’ work processes.Key Technologies: Java, XML, mobile technologies (3G, GSM, SIM, mobile banking/commerce), Unix, SQL, HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript

As the first foreign Software Engineer to be placed in this global company’s Smartcard Tools Team in Beijing, developed desktop applications for management and customization of SIM cards. Key Accomplishments:- Developed over 20 reusable software components for the company’s first-generation smartcard software suite. Integrated 8 release versions of this suite. - Brought into Beijing several technologies from the Paris HQ where the original Tools Team was located.- Headed the UI task force that improved the GUI design of all projects transferred from Paris HQ, by streamlining the usage flow and focusing on simplicity and intuitiveness. - Doubled the development efficiency of the company’s next-generation software suite, by assembling an automated overnight-build platform.- Successfully delivered the next-gen suite (as product integrator) in time for the company-sponsored SIMagine 2003 competition where it was to be used as standard platform.
