(Some duties summarized or omitted due to space constraints.)Reporting to the Corporate Security Manager and overseeing a team of three, acted as the project authority for Vancouver Shipyards, the prime contractor for multiple overlapping contractual phases of the Joint Support Ship project.▪ Company Security Officer for Vancouver Shipyards under Canada’s Contract Security Program as well as a Designated Official under the Controlled Goods Program. This entailed periodic incident reports, risk mitigation, the implementation of corrective actions, and the maintenance of security and export plans, processes, and procedures.▪ Recruited, hired, trained, supervised, mentored, and evaluated three administrators▪ Provided oversight over relevant supplier deliverables, SOWs, RFPs, frequently liaising with Supply Chain and the Contracts department regarding adherence to obligations and contract terms.▪ Advised and consulted with senior management, legal and the Risk department to identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues.▪ Engaged in ongoing relationships with IT, QA/QC, and Configuration Management/Data Management departments regarding application process improvement, incorporating change management, adapting user requirements to increase operational efficiency in a decentralized ERP system architecture, and in the development and oversight of effective SOPs for procedures surrounding access control to controlled information.▪ Responsible for export compliance (i.e., TAAs under the US ITAR, license permits under the US EAR, oversight over End-User Certificates/Statements/Assurances, and compliance of IT processes under US NIST regulations). This entailed developing relationships with regulatory bodies, developing strategies to ensure production and design activities are in compliance with government regulations throughout each product’s lifecycle, and keeping apprised of regulatory developments, adapting processes accordingly.
