Held responsible for the review and processing of journal entries related to cash applications such as lockbox, electronic funds transfers, wires, prepaid, returned checks, intercompany transactions, etc. Duties also included preparing and monitoring multi-billion dollar accounts receivable reconciliations between general ledgers and sub-ledgers; preparing Balance Sheet Review reporting packages and communicating to management; and collaborating with Dell’s auditors to retrieve and submit audit documentation related to cash applications. Business Controls Manager (BCM) - Served as a liaison for the Americas Accounting Organization by providing corporate guidance on company’s control policies and Sarbanes - Oxley compliance. Held liable for month end accounting close processes, accumulation and distribution of external audit documentation, key control process walk-throughs and risk assessments, preparation of key control documents, compilation of organization’s multi-billion dollar trial balance, cost center and reconciliation ownership assignments, and creation of executive management reporting packages. Operating Expenses - Maintained activities pertaining to Operating Expenses such as: Dells Un-invoiced Receipts Report and fluctuation analysis, sales commissions accrual tracking and analysis for Strategic Business Units (SBU), and multi-million dollar balance sheet account reconciliations. Supported the collection and preparation of management representation letter confirmations and documentation relating to Dell’s Un-invoiced Receipts Report. Recovered approx. $20+ million on SBUs Profit & Loss Statements by identifying invalid expenses by eliminating them from the accrual process. Also, prepared and processed various accrual entries such as legal, purchasing card, sales commissions, and travel & entertainment.
