Landscape ArchitectHogue Landscape Services Jan 2022 - PresentHouston, Texas, UsAs the landscape architect for a high-end residential design/build firm I am involved in a project from the initial design phase to the final installation. I meet with potential clients to establish a scope of work and to initiate the design process. As part of the design process, I perform a comprehensive site analysis including taking measurements and surveying if necessary; I produce concept and presentation materials using computer graphics, hand renderings, and 3d modeling; and I meet with clients regularly to discuss and refine the initial design concept. In addition, I research technical specifications, COH regulations and building codes, and HOA deed restrictions to make sure the design is compliant with local regulations. This includes working with arborists, builders, architects, and city officials to obtain permits. Once the design is approved, I work with clients to finalize the details and produce construction and detail drawings if they are needed as part of the scope of work. I will then develop a cost estimate and installation proposal for the construction phase. During the construction phase, I assist with the different aspects of managing a project from plant procurement to overseeing the installation of both hardscapes and softscapes. -
