Responsible for picking up online orders and pack them efficiently for shipping. Required extensive knowledge of the warehouse and Ikea store as well as organisation and delicate handling of fragile products. Also worked in warehouse reception on a forklift which entailed emptying containers, organise and locate appropriate warehouse locations and refilling picking locations.

Taking care of the pots where aluminium oxide (alumina) is transformed into molten aluminium using very high currents (>400 kA). Involved changing 1200kg electrode rods with an operating crane and transporting molten aluminium from the pots to the cast house. Job also included general management and cleaning of the pots and forklift work. Learned to take responsibility and to work hard and under pressure for a long time (12 hour shifts) in a dangerous environment.

Started picking orders on the floor but soon worked my way up to doing big orders and special assignments on a forklift. The warehouse taught me the importance of organisation and structure when working with a large number of products. I also studied the system used to keep track of everything and developed a basic understanding of the programming.

Started as a regular employee and quickly worked my way up to taking care of and fixing the machines that cut and gut the fish. Almost completely automated fish factory which taught me the benefit of technology and how it can be used to improve the efficiency and precision of human labour.
