I am an A-level Biology teacher at Kings Oxford, an international school. I have a strong interest in communicating science through education and a career background in academic science and science/medical writing. I apply my English as a Foreign Language teaching qualification and experience to help students develop both biological understanding and their ability to express it across multiple languages. I also run an enrichment course encouraging the students to think about science in its wider social context and through the richness of their own native language.I am a recent UCL Masters graduate with a high distinction (77%) in History and Philosophy of Science. I studied primarily History of Science, my central academic interest and framework, using it to interpret ideas in science communication, decolonising science and technology, medical health and science museum curation. I also write and work as a linguistic editor and podcaster for the Culturico blog, applying my science communication and writing skills to my fascination with the relationship between science and society.I have a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience at UCL with a project focused on rare neurodegenerative disease, developing my understanding of and laboratory techniques in genetics, neuroscience and cardiology.
