At Qantas I was responsible for leading a remote development team. My work involved managing the transition of multiple upstream data feeds directing to a large legacy system to new cloud based infrastructure on AWS. This required engaging with all stakeholders, from internal services to external vendors, on both strategic and technical levels.

An important part of my role was researching and evaluating new technologies that may help to improve developer efficiency or increase the capabilities and opportunities for the company.Secondary duties included working on tender applications and assisting with PCI compliance management. I also worked closely with product managers on project scoping, quoting and estimation.Outside of my regular duties I hosted weekly developer meetings internally that involved training, technical skills development and general discussions on developer issues.Several integration projects I helped to plan and execute involved working closely with key stakeholders to identify important customer data and securely synchronise it to the clients data warehouse. This also resulted in the development of Google Pass and Apple Wallet integrations for B2B events to avoid printed tickets and optimise event entry for customers with Android or Apple devices.Some of the larger clients I regularly worked with were Telstra and Seven West Media.

As the technical lead, guiding staff and freelance developers, I was involved in the full lifecycle of web development projects including ongoing maintenance.I was involved in the scoping and estimating phases for all web development projects and introduced version control systems (Subversion, GIT) to the work flow with a range of other best practices including daily data backups, naming conventions and improved deployment flows into the company.Clients included Showtime Australia, Industrie Clothing, Merivale and the Russian Film Festival.
