I was one of six excavation supervisors at Kawa, Sudan during the 2007-8 field season. I supervised excavation by a crew of local laborers (up to 8 people) in Arabic, conducted field analysis, drove the field vehicle cross-country and on commute to site, and promoted a good relationship between cultures while assisting with training of Sudanese cultural.
