This project entitled " Improving Automatic Speech Recognition transcription through signal processing" addresses the problem of finding cost effective method to improve the performance of ASR system, in order to enhance the user experience when using the system. pre-processing the speech of the speaker recordings resulted in significant improvement in the system performance. The optimal pre-processing was achieved through an iterative process. The Participants were asked to help in defining the noticeable improvement in the system performance, in order to investigate the users’ ability to select the optimal modification/warp factor without requiring spending time transcribing the recording to create a correct version. Secondly, the results of the first investigation were used in order to enhance the development of modification functions, which was achieved through supervised estimation algorithms, the functions are supposed to estimate optimal warp factors for the male and female audio files separately.
