I am Student of pursuing my Degree in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). I worked for close to 10 months in Eurofins Food Testing (Galen). Joining the company as an intern, I was the Sample-coordinator, mainly managing incoming food samples coming into the lab. It helped groom my skills in sample preparation, aseptic techniques. Additionally, I was able to work well with my team members, gain valuable insights in the industry and was offered a full time position deepening my interest in working in such a commercial laboratory. I am a Diploma holder in Applied Chemistry and am specialized in the area of Industrial Chemistry. During my time in Singapore Polytechnic, I was exposed to various instruments used in the industry such as HPLC, Mass Spectrophotometer and the UV Detector. Not only was I able to operate these instruments, I was able to understand the significance of these instruments in various industries such as Petrochemicals, Forensics bio-genetics. I have worked as a part time tutor in Envision Learning Centre for close to 2 years. This has given me a good opportunity to interact with people younger than me and to be able to curate lessons suitable for them. It has boosted my confidence as well and believe that the patience I have acquired will be an asset in a laboratory. Some laboratory skills I have picked up includes:separation techniques chemical synthesisaseptic techniques bacteria cultivation. Some analytical instruments would be HPLC, GC and electrophoresis.
