I am a graduate of the University of South Alabama’s Marine Conservation and Resource Management program. The program has allowed me to expand my knowledge and gain the appropriate skills to continue in the field of marine conservation. I developed a grant and received funding for the Alabama Coastal Foundation to reduce light pollution on the Alabama shorelines. Researcher and Salt Marsh Expert, Dr. Baker from the University of South Alabama, is in charge of the lab that I worked for in my graduate career. My work at his lab has expanded my knowledge of numerous experimental types that can be done in marine environments. When I wasn’t working in the lab I was volunteering with Share the Beach, a sea turtle patrol organization, and the Marine Mammal Stranding Network. All past experiences have led to a passion for fieldwork, education, and to protect marine life.
