Microbiology Scientist - Live Biotherapeutics Development
CurrentAs a member of the microbiology team, I contribute to the development of a live biotherapeutic product derived from human gut bacteria. Key responsibilities and achievements include:-Established the BSL-2 Microbiology Lab: Set up a dedicated facility for cultivating anaerobic gut bacteria.-Managed BSL-2 lab activities and trained the microbiology team in anaerobic cultivation techniques.-Bacterial Strain Library: Created and managed in-house bacterial strain library, serving as the foundation for our live biotherapeutic product pipeline.-Developed and optimized lab-scale workflows for bacterial co-culturing and lyophilization, improving post-drying cell viability and diversity.-Project Management: Led screening projects for the bacterial strain library, including functional and metabolomics analyses.-Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinated experimental planning and project management, from lab setup to liaising with CDMO vendors.
