Proposed, architected and developed core components and features of SmatWall Network Forensics product.The product captures and records packets to an ISCSI SAN at 10Gbps line rate, and allows users to run time and packet flow queries to retrieve packets for post analysis. The application runs on Tilera’s Tile-GX36 Linux platform. Used OpenISCSI for I/O to ISCSI SAN and implemented Multipath I/O (MPIO) for performance gains.• Worked on the product since its inception. Adopted agile methodology in software development. Proposed and gathered requirements and features. Determined project scope and project estimates. Led team in development of features.• Designed and developed core components like packet recoder, efficient packet indexing methods for fast packet retrieval, multi-query subsystem, etc. Benchmarked I/O throughput over various ISCSI SAN testbeds (Dell Equallogic, Nexenta) in various RAID configurations.Designed and developed an inline 2x1Gbps packet switch on the VMware platform. The switch is a foundation of Corero’s Smartwall Network Threat Defense product on the VMware platforms. Used LIBPCAP, PF_RING, VT-d, VMDq technologies, tuned TCP kernel stack for performance gains.Developed an embedded packet classifier that parses and classifies Ethernet packets for SmartWall Network Threat Defense product.

Led multi-site team in full life-cycle development of "Remote Software Upgrade" feature for NetScout's Infinistream product line. Designed and developed proprietary TCP based sofware upgrade protocol, a multithreaded C++ application server that facilitates software and patch upgrades of various product components.Led development of PTPv2 time sync user/kernel space software. The software tightly synchronizes Linux system clock with PTPv2 server. • Technically evaluated several PTPv2 software vendors and worked with IXXAT (vendor) to define PTPv2 software package to achieve sub microsecond Linux system time accuracy.• Closely worked with IXXAT, INTEL, and MEINBERG to design, develop and integrate PTPv2 compliant network device driver and application with NetScout Infinistream product.

Worked as an individual contributor in gathering requirements, designing and developing a VOIP Softswitch Analyzer for Veraz Networks Inc (a client of Persistent Systems). The analyzer is a multithreaded benchmaking application developed in C++ that feeds VOIP callflows to a softswitch element (Call Control Engine, Policy Engine etc) and collects performance statistics of the element under test.

Worked as an individual contributor in designing and developing components of Sigma's OSS (Operation Support Systems) product. The following components were developed in C++:• A multithreaded TFTP server that provisions SIP UA and device configuration files.• An OSS management adapter that sends XML request to Nortel Succession Communication Server 2000 (a superclass softswitch) for line, node, carrier, ADSL and trunk provisioning.
