Assigned to a Facility Control Systems project for the US EPA. Support the daily operations of a TAC I/Net Seven Building Automation System (BAS) at the IT level for the RTP, NC campus. This is a mission critical system that controls heating, air conditioning, ventilation/exhaust, and lighting for the entire campus. Provide end to end support for entire system including: Configure, troubleshoot and support proprietary I/Net Seven building automation software; Configure, maintain, and deploy proprietary Xenta 527 series routers, which control and bridge communications between TCP/IP based Ethernet network and proprietary RS485 serial controller network; monitor and maintain over 500 controllers for sensor and equipment interface; modify and update I/Net Seven Graphic Pages (GUIs) per user request; monitor and maintain multiple APC UPS and associated network management interfaces; administer, maintain, and troubleshoot HP ProCurve series switches, and 802.11 A/B/G wireless; troubleshoot, maintain, and performance tune EMC2/Dantz Retrospect backup software; support Norton Ghost 10 Imaging and automated backup; support of MS SQL Server 2000; PC support and troubleshooting; LAN support including switches, print servers; network printers, etc.; desktop support includes MS Windows XP/2000 and MS Office XP/2000; coordinate resolutions with hardware and software vendors. Perform proactive support to ensure highest degree of system availability. Create and maintain technical documentation for systems support and configuration. Prototype and produce custom wiring solutions for RS485 serial network communications.
