The research experience of about thirteen years in the area of LMIA and the establishment of LMIA in Pakistan with applied knowledge of international standards on labour market issues with best practice combines with the academic qualifications gained at the International Training Centre of ILO at Turin, Italy. The award of scholarship by ILO for Master in applied labour economics for development is first time opportunity to any Pakistani ever. The international experience is gained by working at the statistics department of ILO HQ working on the labour statistics issues like decent work indicators, Green jobs conceptual issues, Informal employment estimates, standards on employment, unemployment indicators and ADePT labour module of World Bank database. The national experience is added working for EET project of ILO in Pakistan for LMI support to provinces enhancing analytical capacity. The skills of data computation for LMI application developed at Punjab are combined with the identification of future thematic areas for LMI database with applied LMIS strategy to develop system bit by bit.My quantitative competencies include descriptive analysis (micro data analysis using Stata), econometric modeling (using Stata), micro simulation, general equilibrium modeling (GE), social accounting matrices (using GAMS) and impact evaluation techniques (using Stata). I am well conversant with developing and improving survey and data collection instruments, data analysis and report writing.The whole time experience in applied field of labour statistics, labour market analysis and supporting activities to establish LMIA in Pakistan is a strong background. I known the ground realities having prior experience of technical support on LMI, understanding of the situation and established communication with relevant stakeholders.
