After obtaining a degree in ‘Journalism and Mass Communication’ from University of Peshawar, he began his career as a Public Relations Officer for Directorate of Information, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience.Since then, Afzal Khan has worked as a freelance journalist, contributing to a wide range of reports, including ‘Man-Made and Natural Disasters’(Counter Terrorism, Radicalization, Flood 2010 & 2022), RTS & RTI Act, Local Government, and General Issues like women empowerment, human trafficking, culture taboos etc. In addition Afzal Khan also worked in dangerous war zones of District Mohmand, Bajaur, FR Peshawar (Ex-FATA ). he has covered a diverse range of topics, from politics and economics to culture and lifestyle, always with a focus on telling the stories that matter. His hard work rewarded him with the “Amir Ahmad Siddiqui Awards 2022” for best Radio Report.Afzal Khan participated in U.S/Pakistan Professional Partnership Program for Journalists in 2016. He also attended International Conference on Human Trafficking in Pakistan.
