I am an experienced educator and a qualified translator. As a teacher, I truly believe that the use of technology in the classroom and authentic, real-world tasks have a positive impact on students’ motivation and learning. I agree with the author of “The Innovative Mindset”, G. Couros, that technology will never replace teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers can be transformational. Authentic tasks, on the other hand, challenge students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning, as they explore issues they can relate to. No matter how old the students are, there is always a way to bring the real world into the classroom. Teaching, however, is only one of my linguistic passions. Three years ago, I decided to go one step further and explore another field of my interest, namely translation. MA in Translation Studies allowed me to deepen my linguistic perception and broaden my professional expertise.
