Category Buyer / Planner
Current• Responsible for the procurement of direct materials and limited subcontract services, management of vendors, and monitoring the flow of goods and services in a supply chain from quotation and acquisition up to final fulfillment• Manage portfolio of suppliers with spent in excess of $10M on average• Place purchase orders to meet production requirements• Run open order reports to drive materials into the factory• Initiate work orders with appropriate lot sizes to ensure efficient and low cost production, timely delivery, and maintenance of adequate inventory levels• Run Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to push or pull delivery dates• Interface with cross-functional teams, Global Procurement, Supplier Quality, Production Planning & Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, and Engineering, to support optimal levels of inventory based on sales projections. • Publish forecasts to global suppliers to help with a long-term requirement, ensure accurate lead-times and stocking plans• Coordinate with Inventory Management on recommendations for MOQ/AOQ adjustments• Managing metrics like KPIs, Vendor Score Cards, inventory levels, forecasts to suppliers, etc.• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiencies, lower costs and waste• Responsible for monthly savings, purchase price variance (PPV) analysis, etc. • Work with AP to resolve supplier invoice issues• Assist suppliers with technical issues affecting material deliveries• Independently solve supply chain management issues
