I am a full-time copy editor specialized in doing books and journals of Oxford University Press, Wolters Kluwer, Macmillan Books and journals of AAS (American Astronomical Society), IOP-UK (Institute of Physics), MNRAS (MNR-Society), Springer, T&F (Taylor and Francis), and BMJ (British Medical Journals). I have been in this industry for nearly 2 years, and my relevant experience in language editing.. I am very proud to say that my mother company is Aptara, where I have learnt fundamentals. My role as a copyeditor includes checking manuscript for grammar, punctuation, UK/US spelling consistency, syntax and readability, logical errors (sense reading), and table and figure formatting. Besides editing skills and knowledge on proof reading and XML, I am quite competent in self-supervision. As an editor, I always give importance to quality a step high although quality and quantity are important. My passion and dedication in editing helps me to refine my goal. I love to edit books instead of journals as the former covers core knowledge on one single topic. Invariably, whenever I was given a whole book to edit, I edit in such a way that I were an author of the book. This helps me to understand the author’s style of writing, and I will not interrupt that style in any way. As every writer has his or her own way of expressing his or her thoughts, I as an editor will not alter his or her writing style unless a sentence or phrase does not convey the intended meaning.
