Develop and instruct a course on "Rowing Program Management" at the Institute for Rowing Leadership. The IRL is an intensive, one-year coaching education program designed to give fellows learning opportunities to achieve the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a master rowing coach. The IRL is the only coaching education program for rowing accredited at any level in the United States. It is among only five of coach education programs that have received highest status (Level 5) certification for coaching education excellence.“Rowing Program Management” provides fellows an understanding of the numerous elements that play a role in the program management and financial administration of a rowing organization. Specific attention is given to understanding best practices in budgeting, finance, program factors and culture to ensure both short and long term organizational health and stability through modules in: Program Organizations and Program Management Fundamentals, Risk Controls, Budget, Athlete and Coach Development, Safety, Strategic Planning and Fundraising. Curate and present real world case studies to examine the typical business functions of different rowing organizations (e.g., school, club, colleges/universities) associated with athletic programming (e.g., purchasing, accounting, travel reimbursement) to develop familiarity with the components of successful planning.
