Kaylene Peoples is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of AGENDA Magazine, which was named one of the Top 10 Magazines in Los Angeles of 2024 by the prestigious Feedspot.com. AGENDA has served as a launching pad for several other print periodicals, including VIRTUOSO BASS & SCHMOOZE JAZZ. In addition to these, Kaylene is the Executive Editor of several online magazines - all published through her company KL Publishing Group that also publishes memoirs & art books. Before entering the world of publishing, she built a successful career as a filmmaker, composer, & conductor. She has written symphonies, a ballet, & scored several independent films. She has also orchestrated for blockbuster films, contributing orchestrations for AMERICAN PIE 2 & SERENDIPITY. As a top string arranger for major record labels, she has arranged & conducted music for Warner Bros., Capitol Records, & Universal Republic, & others. Notably, she was the sole string arranger for the rock group Oleander, for the CDs SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL & UNWIND which was recognized in 2022 as one of the best post-grunge albums of all time. In her filmmaking career, Kaylene wrote, directed, & composed the score for her multi-award-winning film REDEMPTION, which won Best First-Time Director, Best Picture, & a Jury Award.Kaylene Peoples also founded Agenda Foundation, an accelerated film program for foster youth aging out of the system with job placement in the film industry. She later founded Bella Composers & curated the first international female composers’ competition, Artemis Women Powered Music for the Artemis Women In Action Film Festival. As a musician, she is an award-winning jazz & Bossa-nova artist, a member of the Grammy-nominated fusion band CAB (founded by Bunny Brunel), where she is a flutist/vocalist. Her CD, All Jazzed Up!, topped independent charts, & her second album, MY MAN (featuring Bunny Brunel, Hubert Laws, & Bobby Lyle), was on the Grammy ballot, winning the Akademia Award for Best Jazz Song in 2015 for her recording of "Giant Steps." Her album ROMANTIC BOSSA-NOVA won Album of the Week on Smooth.FM (Portugal), with international airplay from her single, "Corcovado."Deemed a renaissance woman by APPAREL NEWS, FORMIDABLE WOMEN'S Magazine, & THE HOLLYWOOD MAGAZINE, Kaylene Peoples’s multifaceted career as a composer, conductor, filmmaker, & award-winning jazz artist has solidified her as a powerful force in the entertainment industry.
