In 1985, I recognized that there was an opportunity to create a professional association for all individuals involved with professional liability. The idea was to create something different and unique, rather than be the same as other associations existing at that time. The concept was to bring together for the first time, underwriters, brokers, reinsurer’s, legal, claims and were continuing education and a professional designation would be the driver. The organization was called PLUS. Thirty + years later, PLUS is now recognized as the primary source of professional liability educational programs and seminars, networking events, educational products, and information regarding professional liability. Membership consists of over 45,000 individuals, representing over 1,000 companies active in the many fields of professional liability. In 2003, he joined InsuranceNoodle a nationally licensed web base insurance wholesaler as a executive vice president to run their MGA division Noodle Specialty Brokers.

In 1992, Angelo joined Doug Rigdon to create Rigdon & Gioia, which eventually became a national managing general agency for four different insurance companies underwritng twelve different insurance products.. During that time, they developed a number of new programs, supervised product distribution, secured reinsurance, and forged strong relationships with key insurance carriers. The agency was sold in 1999.
