In Joy's words ‘he just never went home!’I made the local ABC a regular stop after school and on Saturday mornings, running small errands and helping out around the station. Throughout high school, I went on to casually present and produce radio programs on the station (including Joy Ruston’s Saturday Breakfast Program), while teaching others the technical intricacies involved with using the newly installed digital technology. I became a full-time employee of ABC Riverland after completing high school in 2002 and two years later set off to the ‘big smoke’ to work at ABC Radio Adelaide. After a decade of service with the ABC, I took off to sunny Brisbane in 2008 to work for commercial radio station 4BC. Here I became a Senior Executive Producer working with the likes of Jamie Dunn from Agro’s Cartoon Connection fame and former Federal Minister Gary Hardgrave. I also played an integral role during the coverage of the 2011 Queensland floods and cyclone Yasi emergency. In 2012, I returned home to Aunty to take up the position of Regional Content Manager and Breakfast Presenter at ABC Mildura-Swan Hill (Vic), where I managed the local bureau and presented the 6-9am live Breakfast radio show each day. After spending two and a half years in regional Victoria, I returned to Adelaide as the Regional Content Director for ABC Radio South Australia and Broken Hill; and later became the Regional Editor for South Australia, Northern Territory and Broken Hill in 2015. I took on the additional responsibility of leading our ABC Emergency Broadcast team in 2020.I am a Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant and have a Diploma of Management and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
