Aggie Armstrong is a dynamic multimedia artist whose work explores the layered experiences of female consciousness, heavily influenced by her upbringing as a Third Culture Individual— a person who has spent a significant part of their formative years in a culture different from their parents’. This cross-cultural experience has greatly shaped her identity and creative voice, which she expresses through bold compositions, vivid colors, and intricate hand-stitched embroidery. Her work is both a personal reflection and an exploration of broader themes like identity, belonging, and the intersectional female experience.In 2023, Aggie was commissioned to create the official poster for Canada’s prestigious The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, held in Toronto, Ontario. Her work has been featured at The Artist Project Toronto from 2022 to 2024, with an invitation to return in 2025. Additionally, her works are she has several solo exhibitions scheduled for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 in Toronto. Numerous works of hers are held in private collections nationally and globally, including the Chateau Orquevaux Artist Residency in France.In 2024, Aggie became co-owner of ARTWRK/, an online gallery offering a platform for artists across North America. As a leader in the art community, she is dedicated to supporting emerging artists, like she was supported by the founders of ARTWRK/.Born in Manila, Philippines, Aggie moved to Ontario, Canada in 1990 and earned her BA in Fine Arts from Western University in London, Ontario. Now based in Oxford County, she is a full-time artist and creative entrepreneur, running Perennial Palettes Experience, an experiential tourism venture. Her diverse upbringing continues to inspire the themes she explores, especially in relation to memory, identity and the female experience.
