I am a Governance expert with a specialist interest in Financial Management (FM), Risk Management, and Digital Transformation. My experience spans over 20 years, including Big 4 at PWC. I am associated with the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC and involved in various development projects in the East Africa, West Africa, and South Asia regions for over ten years. I have expert-level engagements with organizations like USAID, Tetra Tech, Chemonics, DFID, UNICEF, to name a few.As a senior member of the FM teams, I am currently engaged in projects with core funding of more than $700m from the USAID and the World Bank. I have a proficient understanding of Uniform guidance (2cfr200), Cost Accounting Standards and (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and GAAP. Data analytics is my passion, and I have proficiency in analyzing trends in large data sets from different sources, both structured and non-structured using state-of-the-art BI and data visualization tools like MicroStrategy and Power BI. My recent projects have achieved optimum burn rates and remain fully compliant with the relevant laws and regulations and institutional policies, directives, procedures like AIDAR, ADS, OP (The World Bank). I have led strategic dialogues at the highest level with counterparts, and my leadership has driven successful decision-making. Following are a few of my most recent achievements:- Design and implemented fiduciary & financial controls resulting in improving fiduciary risk ratings of five World Bank-funded programs in East Africa and South Asia, having obligated funding of over $1 billion.- Automated the country-level payments processing and verification process for over $ 200 million to 5.2 million recipients for quarterly social security payments, decreasing the payment processing cycle from 90 days to only 7 days.- Conducted ongoing performance tracking and success metrics for over 300 locations using a real-time data feed from financial institutions by designing and implementing a performance dashboard based on big data analytics.- Developed the first Institutional Risk Policy Management Framework for National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Kenya.- Developed beneficiary payment reconciliation interface using BI technology for a social protection program in Rwanda.- Established a foreign NGO from West Africa in the United States by completing all legal, regulatory, and tax compliance matters. Designed the accounting and financial reporting systems and achieved a 90% burn rate in the first year of the USAID-funded program.
