Through the LAB-8 duration we learned:• What is research?• The scientific method.• Scientific writing.• The construction of scientific papers and reports.• Scientific research ethics.• Basic Presentation Skills, We were assigned to make:• An abstract summary of a Scientific Paper, My paper was “Taking the Human out of Learning Applications: A Survey on Automated Machine Learning”• Compare the basic Scientific method and how it is applied in the paper.And finally, we had a group project:• Make a presentation of the paper. My roles were- To summarize, the first two sections with the conclusion and write their script.- Review the final total script to make sure it is compatible.- Compare the script with the visual aids used.

I was assigned to do:• Quantity Surveying (QS). I had a weekly meeting with site engineers to review the executed parts in the site and then calculated the material quantities from the drawing. Make a report to the office senior engineer.• All necessary Shop drawing.Using AutoCAD I made parts detailed drawing for the site engineering to construct.• Tracing schedule.Compare working schedule reports from the site with the actual project schedule. Make an appropriate adjustment within the allowed period.• Prepare as-built drawing and make all necessary Variation Orders (VOs).Sometimes site conditions force some adjustment to the original design. I made the variation orders of quantities and materials for it and draw the final as build drawing.• Payment certificates for subcontractorsAs the main contractor, we sometimes recruit a sub-contractor to make small tasks. I was responsible to survey the finished tasks and make the invoices.
