Was in charge of two major projects; Proposition “Our Land, Our Schools” to be on the November 2008 ballot. Said Proposition was on the sale of state lands to fund public education. In addition I coordinated a response to a Request for Proposal for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program to the City of Phoenix. Both projects entailed the gathering and coordination of important documents, people and companies. Both projects were on strict deadlines, which were met.

-Assessed 4 and 5 yr old Hispanic children’s vocabulary comprehension inSpanish and English with pre-reading language tests. -Determined children’s recognition of rhyming and phonetic skills throughout the period of four months with monthly visits to the classroom.-Students were tested with pre-tests, tests and post-tests in Spanish and English. Test groups consisted of 10 to 15 students per classroom.

-Designed and implemented research procedures for the data collection.-Gathered a sample of 30 Latina/o Nano-Scientists and Engineers from various parts of the United States. Conducted 30 qualitative interviews over a 6 month period.-Transcribed interviews conducted in Spanish and English as well as wrote the final report.

-Conducted qualitative interviews with 8 and 9 yr old Hispanic children to assess their biliteracy in Spanish and English with non-fiction, historical and science oriented readings aligned with the school’s curriculum. -Assisted in designing research procedures with the research team for data collection.-Transcribed individual reading sessions of participants that were conducted in both Spanish and English.
