Chief Executive Officer and Accountable Manager for the airlines of the Volare Group SpA (Air Europe SpA and Volare Airlines SpA), at the time the second largest Italian civil aviation group, with a turnover of EUR550million, 5 million passengers transported from June 2003 to June 2004, 1380 employees and a fleet of 27 aircraft (6 A330-200/ 19 A320-200/ 2 A321-200) and based at Milan Malpensa airport. Within just two weeks from his appointment he identified serious discrepancies between the inherited Key Financial Data and the data that emerged after a short check performed by his management, as also confirmed immediately after by the investigation carried out by KPMG Forensic. Lauda-air SpA was engaged in a large number of bilateral agreements with the governments of nations throughout the world. The Company had a staff of about 450 employees and was undoubtly, in terms of achievements and results, the market-leader.

Business Development Manager of Rank Strand Ltd (London, 1991-1989), an English company belonging to The Rank Organization PLC, specialised in the production and sale of high-precision electronic and electro-mechanical products for theatres, television and film studios. The company had seven manufacturing factories based around the world (Italy, Scotland, Germany, California, Utah, NY and Hong Kong) and eleven distribution companies (England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, California, New York and Canada).1989-1986: General Manager of Rank Strand Lighting SpA of Rome, the Italian company of the group, including both the manufacturing and the sales business units, formed in 1986 to incorporate QuartzColor SpA, an Italian company which was the world leader in one of the market sectors which Rank Strand was operating in. Having worked a few years before in the Italian company that was later to be bought by RSL, he was head-hunted directly by the Chairman of the English company who wanted a local manager with a clear understanding of the british business culture to head the company.

Sales Manager of Aviointeriors SpA, based south of Rome, an Italian aviation company specialised in the production and sale of civil, military and executive aircraft interiors and components. During this period he met Mr Niki Lauda for the supply of his first new B737-300 cabin interiors. The respect earned for the work carried out with punctuality and precision later convinced Mr Lauda to contact him during the course of 1991 for the start-up of Lauda-air Italy, as described above.

His first work experience. The company was Quartzcolor SpA of Rome, specialised in the production of lighting instruments for television and film studios, later sold by the Italian owners in 1986 to the English company Rank Strand Ltd as described above. He started in January 1981 in the R&D department as a designer, to then make a career in the commercial area until he became Head of Marketing and Sales in March 1982.
