As head of PLOS Information Systems I am currently leading an international team of support technicians and engineers. We support PLOS.org, eight online journals and blogs. My team has recently completed a complete telecom system upgrade to Shoretel for both offices, San Francisco, and Cambridge, UK. PLOS IT has completed a complete upgrade of our network infrastructure from firewalls to network switching, standardizing on Juniper Networks. PLOS IT services are currently in the process of migrating from a premise based MS Exchange system to cloud based O365. The PLOS service desk has become a customer focused, and customer satisfied provider to over 200 world wide employees. PLOS IT services currently supports a mixed environment of Apple, Windows, and Linux based workstation and server hardware. IT has consolidated telecom providers, and telecom systems, to better leverage expenses, and increase reliability.
