As a volunteer, I worked in the fields of communication and translation. I maintained our social media accounts, answered upcoming questions, and wrote posts.We also created an application for our members that is available in twelve different languages. It was my responsability to be in contact with the translators, introduce them to the translation platform, and make sure that they have everything they need to provide high-quality translations to our users. I was also in charge of the Hungarian translation.

As a trainee for the European Commission, I worked for the Hungarian department at the Directorate-General for Translation. My tasks included translating legislation, press releases, reports and other Commission documents from English into Hungarian. I translated nearly 200 pages, mainly in the field of plant and animal health, feed and food safety, environment, transport, product specifications, and public administration. I also participated in training modules on IT tools, and European institutions. For the last two months of my stage, I was working as a member of the terminology team. I completed thematic projects and updated the IATE terminology database in a range of fields (such as ecodesign of different household appliances, vehicles, sustainable development goals). During these two months I worked on approximately 500 terminology entries.

During my Masters' studies, I started working at my Faculty as an assistant to an EU-funded project. The project's aim was to improve language education in Hungary through extracurricular activities in high schools. My duties included e-mail correspondence with participants, such as professors, teachers, parents, university and high school students. I prepared the contracts and agreements for our partners and oftentimes translated these documents for our foreign colleagues. I used the Microsoft Office package on a daily basis, especially Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. While I was working for the project, I organised two summer camps for several hundred students: I sent out information letters, stayed in contact with the parents, searched catering services, registered all the applicants, distributed them in groups and made sure that our teacher trainees have every material they need for the classes. I worked for almost two years in this project, and it was a great experience to see how we could contribute to the language learning process of so many young Hungarians.
